About Hellebores
Hellebores are also called Lenten Roses or Christmas Roses. Their foliage is evergreen and their lovely blooms are the first to appear in spring with daffodils and crocuses.
They perform best planted in groups in a woodland or in a shady border, are deer and rabbit resistant, and are somewhat drought tolerant.
When to plant
Late summer to late fall.
Where to plant
Hellebores love the shade and need full to partial shade to thrive.
Soil
Hellebores appreciate a compost rich soil or an undisturbed woodland soil.
Spacing
Allow 18-24 inch spacing.
